Q: What type of roofing materials do you use?
Certified with GAF, Shinglemaster CertainTeed and Preferred Contractor with Owens Corning. There are the primary manufactures we use for shingle roofs. We also install EPDM (rubber roofing sytems) as well metal roofing systems (Classic Rib and Standing Seam)
Q: How long does replacing a roof typically take?
Depends on size of roof but normally 1-3 days.
Q: How can we get an estimate?
Call us for free estimate, we will come to evaluate your roof and send you estimate usually the same day by email.
Q: Do we have to be out of the house when you are replacing the roof?
It isn't necessary but is a noisy process so we recommend if you have small children you may want to take to sitter.
Q: Can I remove ice from my roof?
Not a DYI project.
Q: What are ice dams?
Ice buildup on eaves of sloped roofs of heated buildings that results from melting under a snow pack reaching the eave and freezing there. Freezing at the eave impedes drainage of melted water, which adds to the ice dam and causes back up of the melted water, which may cause water leakage into the roof and more damage to the building and its contents..
Q: How do you calculate the amount of shingles I will need for my roof?
We use both measurement software and hand measure the roof surface and slope of roof.
Q: Why is there discoloring in my roof?
Typically stains are caused by lack of copper granules in roof shingles. New roofing shingles materials have more copper content and come with a stain warranty.
Q: What kind of ventilation can I use on my roof?
We recommend ridge venting whenever possible. There are other method of roof venting which include power exhaust vents, and non mechanical metal type vents
Q: My home was damaged by hail, what is the turn time to fix this?
This depends on your insurance company sending an adjustor to look at the damage. We can determine if you have hail damage on your roof by either visually inspecting the roof and/or drone inspection with hail detection software.
Q: I got my check from the insurance adjuster for hail damage, now what?
Give us a call for free estimate and we will provide you an estimate without asking to see your insurance claim. We have determined over the years this is a much more trustworthy process than asking to see your insurance papers.
Q: Will you work with my insurance company to help me move forward with my roofing job?
Yes, we are glad to meet your adjustor at the time of the roof inspection and work closely with you and the insurance company to insure that you receive fair representation.
Q: What sets you apart from your competition?
95% of the roofs we install are certified or system plus warranties with a 5 year labor and workmanship warranty for Les Norris Roofing and a 50 year warranty from the manufacturer. We never ask for a deposit or "up front" money form our customers. The invoice will be sent to after the roof has been completed. We are family and veteran owned. We have 5 star rating on Google and A Plus rating from BBB. We value our customers and want to make the process of getting a new roof a non stressful experience.
